Habits are hard to break! This article takes an in-depth look at how habits work, because knowing how they form is the first step to breaking them. Habits are a cycle, and are made up of 3 things: a cue, a routine, and a reward. The key to breaking an unwanted habit is knowing what the different components are and modifying one or more of them. Easier said than done! By definition habits are things we do automatically and with little thinking. So it may take a couple shots to figure out what changes works for us, and that’s perfectly normal.
