Intriguing (and surprising) reasons we could all use a bit of therapy

Usually when we think of therapy, we think of alleviating psychological symptoms, but therapy can also help us examine our lives and find fulfillment and wellness. One of the many reasons anyone can benefit from therapy is that it helps us respond objectively to what is happening in the present moment. We often have out-dated templates of thoughts, feelings, actions, etc., that we unconsciously use and project onto present situations. These intrinsic responses influence who we believe ourselves to be, and it can be difficult to break free of the comfort they provide. Therapy helps us recognize our conditioned patterns of reactions, challenges them as well as our tendency to resist shifting them. When we get out of our comfort zones and start to modify the way we analyze and react to the world, we are able to grow and mature.

Only a few of the many reasons therapy can benefit anyone, are touched on in this article. If you’re interested in learning more about how therapy can benefit you, I would love to discuss this with you further in a complementary 30-minute consultation.
